Symptoms Of Cancer

Cancer is a broad term that encompasses over one hundred different types of cancer. Although each type has its own set of characteristics, there are some cancer symptoms that occur in many types of cancer.
It is important to note that some types of cancer do not present any symptoms until they are in advanced stages. This is why cancer screening and risk assessment are vital for cancer prevention and early detection.
A broad spectrum of non-specific cancer symptoms may include:

• Persistent Fatigue: Fatigue is one of the most commonly experienced cancer symptoms. It is usually more common when the cancer is advanced, but still occurs in the early stages of some cancers. Anemia is commonly the culprit -- a condition that is associated with many types of cancer, especially types affecting the bowel. Fatigue is a symptom of both malignant and non-malignant conditions and should be evaluated by a physician.
• Unintentional Weight Loss: While it may be a welcome surprise to lose weight without trying, it can be a red flag for many illnesses, including cancer. Losing 10 pounds or more unintentionally definitely warrants a visit to the doctor. This type of weight loss can occur with or without loss of appetite. Remember, weight loss can be a symptom of cancer, but is also a symptom of many other illnesses, too.
• Pain Typically, pain is not an early symptom of cancer, except in some cancer types like those that spread to the bone. Pain generally occurs when cancer spreads and begins to affect other organs and nerves.
• Lower pack pain is cancer symptom that is associated with ovarian cancer and colon cancer. Shoulder pain can also be a symptom of lung cancer. Pain in the form of headaches can be associated with brain tumors (malignant and benign).
• Stomach pains can be related to types of cancer, like stomach cancer, pancreatic cancer, and many others. Stomach pain can be a very vague symptom because so many illnesses can cause stomach pain.
• Fever: A fever is a very non-specific symptom of many mild to severe conditions, including cancer. In relation to cancer, a fever that is persistent or one that comes and goes frequently can signal stress on the immune system. Fevers are commonly associated with types of cancer that affects the blood, like leukemia and lymphoma, but are also common in people whose cancer has spread.
• Bowel Changes: If you experience constipation, diarrhea, blood in the stools, gas, thinner stools, or just a general overall change in bowel habits, see your doctor. These symptoms are most commonly associated with colon cancer, but are also related to other cancer types.
• Chronic Cough: A persistent, new cough or a cough that won't go away or becomes worse needs to be evaluated by a doctor. Blood and/or mucus may accompany the cough and can be caused many conditions. In relation to cancer, a chronic cough with blood or mucus can be symptom of lung cancer.

Keep in mind that these are very general, vague symptoms of cancer. If you have one or two of these symptoms, it is not a red flag for cancer but more an indication to your doctor to run certain medical tests. The symptoms listed above are experienced by most people with cancer at various stages of their disease, but are also linked to many other non-cancerous conditions. Lung Cancer :O

Lung cancer used to be the most common malignancy in the United States but has dropped to number three behind prostate and breast cancers respectively. Each year approximately 173,800 Americans will be diagnosed with lung cancer and approximately 160,440 will die of their cancer. In Iowa, there will be about 2,000 new cases of lung cancer each year. At Mercy Medical Center, 251 new cases of lung cancer were diagnosed in 2004. Those 251 cases are the subject of this report.

At one time lung cancer used to be seen predominantly in men. However, as women began to smoke in increasing numbers, the incidence of lung cancer in women has risen significantly. At Mercy Medical Center, 45 percent of the 2004 cases were women compared to 34 percent in 1997.

What Is Cancer? & What Is Diabetes?

Cancer

•  Is a large, heterogeneous class of diseases in which a group of cells display uncontrolled growth, invasion that intrudes upon and destroys adjacent tissues, and often metastasizes, wherein the tumor cells spread to other locations in the body via the lymphatic system or through the bloodstream. These three malignant properties of cancer differentiate malignant tumors from benign tumors, which do not grow uncontrollably, directly invade locally, or metastasize to regional lymph nodes or distant body sites like brain, bone, liver, or other organs.
• Researchers divide the causes of cancer into two groups: those with an environmental cause, and those with a hereditary genetic cause. Cancer is primarily an environmental disease, though genetics influence the risk of some cancers. Common environmental factors leading to cancer include tobacco use, poor diet and obesity, infection, radiation, lack of physical activity, and environmental pollutants. These environmental factors cause or enhance abnormalities in the genetic material of cells. Cell reproduction is an extremely complex process that is normally tightly regulated by several classes of genes, including oncogenes and tumor suppressor genes. Hereditary or acquired abnormalities in these regulatory genes can lead to the development of cancer. A small percentage of cancers, approximately five to ten percent, are entirely hereditary.

Diabetes

• Diabetes mellitus - often referred to simply as diabetes - is a condition in which the body either does not produce enough, or does not properly respond to, insulin, a hormone produced in the pancreas. Insulin enables cells to absorb glucose in order to turn it into energy. In diabetes, the body either fails to properly respond to its own insulin, does not make enough insulin, or both. This causes glucose to accumulate in the blood, often leading to various complications.
• Many types of diabetes are recognized: pre-diabetes indicates a condition that occurs when a person's blood glucose levels are higher than normal but not high enough for a diagnosis of type 2 diabetes. As of 2009 there are 57 million Americans who have pre-diabetes.
• Gestational diabetes: Pregnant women who have never had diabetes before but who have high blood sugar (glucose) levels during pregnancy are said to have gestational diabetes. Gestational diabetes affects about 4% of all pregnant women. It may precede development of type 2 (or rarely type 1).

Kasey came to the room happy and hyper like always and came to wake me up and brianna, but since i didnt want to get up i turned around and Kasey got up and layed next to me, and than took over the bed.

Lovely Day

well afterall i had a good day with fatty and cynthia, who would of thought that would of been fun, but i really enjoyed there company and the time that was spent (: and man did that bacon burger kick it until i seen something not so pleasant to see =/ .. but i guess my last and final time.! sooo its still hot well at least in my room and yaayy im happy i drove again since i havent an a while, but this time i got the expedition which is HUGE!! & im all small =/ but i can still manage cuz im cool like that..well chow ima go wit the bro to the garage!! :D

Oh Boi

Theres just so much tention in the air its not even funny. been having alot in mind for the reasons on wats been goin on.. i dont kno whats the best thing to do but im just goin wit it.. and well today is another day and suxs how its soo hot, grr hate summer cant wait for my favorite season WINTER!! :D and hopefull fatty comes over today its been awhile since i havent seen her :( but i kno the day will come any time now. i cant wait for the weekend it should be fun partyin and than gona head to San Fransico so that should be fun, i jst hope my sister goes and it would be mooree fun and thats the truth lol.. i want to go to target!! i love to shop there they always have good stuff there, but since recently my sister told me about the disney store and how there coming up with new design lines of jack skellingtion, now i want to go to the disney store to find whats new about jack!! its kinda hard for me to write about other stuff when i keep loosing my train of thought and of course its not bueno.. i just hope everything turns out for the better and hope it all falls into place like it should. well thats it for this evening .. adios (:

Awesome Yet Sad Nite

well last nite started off good since i was kickin it wit my babe ivett n i was even more happy that she finally met dd davee.. n we were all hangin out till it hit 10 n she had to go which suxs cuz i reallly enjoy her company n havin her around it was suppose to be a fun ending by having sum drinks here n there n maybe shots! lol.. bt like always plans do come out like they suppose to, so than after me and davee went to tiffanys place another girls thats special to me (: n even tho u nvr have those fully drinks wit me i always have fun n laughs wit her.. she cracks me up n more to c her face reactions wen u dont wana drink a drink lol.. bt i give u props for drinkin the mix drink 2nite,, yaaayy!!! well me like any other time i jst downd it to have a good time n boy did i have a great time would of been even better wit my fatty there n all of us havin a good time!! bt thats for nxt time so im not trippin (: well thats its for now cuz my sister gettin mad at me for typin :( sinces she nxt to me.. =/

we got classes together we even carpool together now imagine that ..... there are the funniest car moments and even the singing is fun we also have our intense talking in the car ride
we made good memories in high school and we are still making memories and thats never gonna stop

well as i was washing my dishin n cookin i couldnt stop bt to think of all the things ive been thru wit davee the awesome guy ! well for starters let me say bout the day i went to the soccer(mx.vs.usa) game, man was that tons n tons of fun n more to have seen davee tell that usa fan off !! LMFAO.. man that was jst a kodak moment i really wish i would have recorded it.. i have nvr seen u so mad like that, aawww good goooood times..and also that day how u forgot the meat at ur house so u had to go around asking so sum.. lol n to top it off u were forgettin the tickets ay ayy david.. Welcome to another edition of Davee writes about JJ.

Sometimes its easier to write about other people then your self. I would say I just met her, but its been a while already, to put the exact date on it, it was on May 28th. The only reason i remember that is because it was the day ManU lost to Barcelona in the Champions League Final :) We started to get along really quick. Kind to think of it, I can't seem to remember a day i didn't see, talk, or text her since then. So I'm pretty sure i can come up things to say about her. 

As I mentioned some of her favorite in the last post, I forgot to tell you her obsession on Jack. Yep, Mr. Tim Burton's masterpiece, Jack Skeleton. The main character of the Night Before Christmas has more "pegue" then me. What can i say, she's in love with him, kinda gets me jealous of the guy.

Enough about Jack, let have more JJ. Though my eyes she a very pretty girl, nice, always with a smile, and always fun to have her around. She say that she is shy, but the times I've taken her out with my friends and family she has proven to get along with almost anyone. Something else that i like about her. all the stupid things I say, all the thing I write, she has a similar sense of humor... oh and she cracks up when they say PeanutButter.

i should keep it a little short. Still have tons to say about this her, but my spelling sucks and grammar stinks.  Catch you guys next time.

FIRST!!!!!

This isn't JJ, this is Mr. Awesome a.k.a. Davee, double E cuz i'm cool like that. I told her to wright anything but she was stuck, so i'm here to lend her a hand.

But first of all, let me tell you who's JJ. She is just more then two letters, the fact I call her jj is because i keep messing up the pronunciation of her name. As easy as it looks, I'm pretty sure if i mess up one more time she will get a hammer and beat me with it. But aside from that, what i really think stands out from her, its her sparkling personality. That why it wasn't hard to think of a URL for this blog, what better way then the exclamation mark. Yes, if you HOLD SHIFT then PRESS the number 1, you'll have your good old exclamation mark.

A cosmetologist student, her favorite color is purple, and has a very VERY sweet spot for her chocolate. I really don't know what she might make this blog about, but there are very much possibilities that i'm going to be stuck writing more of these. So i'll save some words for next time. For now, i leave this up to her. as for now she probably laughing about this as she reads. goodnight
